CERN is training apprentices in the fields of technical professions since 1966. The Technology Department manages CERN's Technical Apprenticeship program.
This program contributes to the training of young technical professionals in Geneva. Apprentices receive a personalized training by experienced managers, taking advantage from the variety and high level of expertise TE Department and CERN.
The practical work at CERN is combined with the theoretical studies at the technical school (in Geneva or Lausanne).
The are three paths of technical apprenticeship at CERN:
- Electronic (Electronicien(ne) CFC)
- Polymechanic (Polymécanicien(ne) CFC)
- Physics Laboratory Technician ( Laborantin(e) en Physique CFC)
After four years of training the apprentice obtains a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) with or without Professional Maturity which allows him-her to integrate the work market or continue to higher level studies.
Apprentices take advantage of the large diversity of the Organization which offers numerous possibilities and develop personal improvement.
